February sprints along.
I’m a little late in posting this, but I’m sick so that’s my excuse for everything. Valentine’s was okay? Ian didn’t get me anything, because he has been tired/busy. I don’t mind? It’s not like I place excessive value on perfunctory holidays, and it’s not like he loves me any less. It just would have been nice to get anything. I made him these...

Tired.  Depressed.  Unappreciated.  Unimportant.

untidyfurrows: Canned Pillsbury biscuits with holes cut in the middles are not “homemade doughnuts.” A lump of frosting is not an “easy chocolate truffle.” Shampoo mixed with water and salt doesn’t count as “homemade bubble bath.” Painting your Ikea dresser a different color is not… I like that “repurposing” is popular, because it helps put a dent in how wasteful and...

Your online rights already don't exist.
To everyone who thought we overcame SOPA and PIPA: it was too little too late.  Your rights were signed away by Obama back in October on an international scale. Direct quote: “The provisions of ACTA grant copyright holders direct powers to demand that ISPs remove material from the Internet, without the requirement of a court order, and permit foreign influence over ISPs in the United...

Ron Paul and racism.
Please, if you care about this issue at all, at the very least watch the videos I have linked.  I will not vote for a Republican this year. That’s not surprising, considering I normally lean left. However, I’m not terribly impressed with how Obama has met certain challenges to personal freedoms, especially in his conservative and underwhelming response to the NDAA. I also feel Obama spent most of...

Unhappy Birthday
Due to snow and a nice boss, Ian got out of school and work for my birthday. We had plans to take a bus downtown, enjoy the winter wonderland, eat at my favorite Thai restaurant, catch a movie, and shop at the Japanese dollar store. Then, I woke up with the flu. Ian ran out in the still-falling snow to buy me medicine, as it looks like I’ll be spending this birthday buried under tissues...

New Old Journal
I’m back. But I’m regressing a bit. This journal will be very personal and entirely original. No more reblogs. Maybe more privacy. The collective community from tumblr is pretty great, but I always felt happiest with my journals when I chronicled the little things I created or encountered that I felt identified me apart from how others should view me. I’m also starting a...

Joss Whedon: Feminist
Interviewer: So why do you write these strong female characters?
Whedon: Because you're still asking me that question.
